100-Word Scifi: "Free Ride"

Every week, I write a 100-word story based on a random word. This week's random word is "bus," which is why I missed a week. Couldn't think of a story for "bus." Thanks to @affabulldog for the suggestion.

Sherry Graham screamed, "Hang on!"

The other passengers cried out as the bus crashed through the mountain road's barrier. Graham held the steering wheel tight, as if to try and change course in midair.

The bus came to a sudden halt. She and the other passengers stared down at the jagged rocks below, screaming. The rocks began to fade into gray. At first Graham thought a cloud formed, until the gray turned shiny.

It took the form of a saucer the bus perched on top of. The saucer rose up and sailed into the clouds, carrying the bus with it.
