100-Word Scifi: "Revelation"

Every week, I write a 100-word story based on a random word. This week's word is "scandal."

PROMETHEUS, IO – The Jupiter government continues to feel the aftershocks of the revelation that President Reginald Newman was formerly a Europan. Some congressmen are now calling for Newman to be impeached.

Three days ago, The Io Chronicle published its report that Newman was born a Europan, Redheart Green Eye. Newman later confirmed he went through a species change in 2214.

Congresswoman Donna Cross has been leading the call for impeachment. "The Jupiter Constitution clearly states that one must be born a human to hold political office."

Senator Bill Shrub disagreed, saying, "Newman has proven more human than any of us."
