100-Word Sci-Fi: "Grand Theft"

Every Saturday, I post a 100-word sci-fi story based on a random word. Today's word is "thief."

Grand Theft

Sam Photon stepped out of the shadows with his gun in hand. "That's far enough, Demeter. Drop it."

Benedict Demeter scowled as he dropped the box. "How'd you find me, Photon?"

Photon kept his gun trained on Demeter as he picked up the remote. "Next time you try to steal the Earth, Demeter, you might want to wipe off the fingerprints."

Photon looked out the window of the space station as he activated the remote.

As the Earth phased out of hyperspace, its ghostly image slowly turned solid until the blue and green planet drifted among the stars once again.
